All community or voluntary groups will have a management board/committee/trustees. Over the years we’ve worked with many groups where the board are not fully aware of their responsibilities. These courses in governance training will help you to understand the important role you play in the development of your organisation.

We would advise anyone sitting on a management board/committee or trustee, to complete the committee skills and organisational finance courses as a really good starting point. Following these, if you have a particular role, e.g. secretary, we would strongly advise you to complete that specific course.

Governance training looks at when to register as a charity and the responsibilities that you must adhere to. We also look at why and when a group may become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) or a limited company and the responsibilities and reporting that would then be expected. We do cover lots more so please do look at each flyer for a more detailed description of what each course offers.

In addition we have a team of experienced community development officers, who can answer questions about governance, supporting you in your learning journey.
